Fly the Simulator in 5 Minutes
Use this when you simply want to start a basic flight without building a complex scenario.
Sit down and adjust seating
You should reach full rudder pedal travel and hold the yoke comfortably.
Verify controls are centered
Yoke centered, pedals neutral, throttle low, mixture rich, trim roughly takeoff neutral.
Launch Navigator
Use the simulator screen. If Navigator is already open, start from the main menu.
Select Dispatch, then Free Flight
Free Flight lets you choose the airport, runway, starting position, time, and weather.
Choose airport and runway
Enter the airport identifier, pick the airport from the list, then choose the runway.
Set weather
For a first flight, use daytime, good visibility, light wind, no turbulence, and no precipitation.
Click Start Flight
Wait for the flight to load. Do not click Start again while a flight is already in progress.
Fly
Release pause if needed, smoothly add power, keep centerline with rudder, rotate, and climb out.
