Redbird Navigator Guide

Navigator

Start, Save, and Manage Flights

Navigator is the Redbird system used to select flights, create Free Flights, set weather, manage saved flights, and pause or end a session.

Main Menu

Dispatch

Your main place to launch flights. It includes downloaded scenarios, saved flights, favorites, and Free Flight.

Scenario Store

Where Redbird scenario bundles can be downloaded or removed. Some content may require a license or account.

Sim Management

Used for device status, updates, support, and settings. Customers should use device status only unless staff directs otherwise.

Settings

Administrative area for simulator behavior. Do not change these during a customer session.

Free Flight Procedure

Open Dispatch

From the Navigator main menu, click Dispatch.

Select Free Flight

Choose the Free Flight tab. This is where you build a custom starting point.

Set aircraft options

On a TD/TD2, available options may include high-performance engine, retractable gear, or constant-speed propeller depending on configuration.

Choose position

Start on a runway for takeoff practice, or start in the air for approach/intercept practice.

Set time and weather

Pick visibility, wind, turbulence, clouds, and precipitation appropriate to the training goal.

Start Flight

Click Start Flight once and wait for the flight to load. A flight already in progress must be ended before starting another.

Saved Flights and Favorites

Saved flights let you return to a useful setup later. Favorites help keep commonly used scenarios easy to find. Add clear tags such as ILS, holding, crosswind, night, or checkride prep so you can locate them quickly.

Pause, Resume, and End

When a flight is active, Navigator provides controls to pause, unpause, and end the flight. Pause before discussing a procedure or fixing a setup issue. End the flight when you want to change to a new scenario.
